Niche Marketing

Niche Marketing is the Way to Succeeding Online by Evelyn Bennett

Unless you want to compete with the 'big boys' of Internet marketing, Niche Marketing is the answer for the small business entrepreneur. Small business brick and mortar stores do not stand a chance against the larger corporations in the real world but the Internet seems to have created an equal opportunity for small businesses; the world is at your fingertips, not just the local neighbourhood.

There are many different ways to having a niche marketing business. Firstly you will need to decide what niche you are going to target and build a website on that theme. Secondly you will need a product or content for your site that will draw in people time and time again, providing your business with a profit. The question is, what type of product or content should you produce? Below are a few ideas that you may find useful:

1. You could create an informational product on your chosen niche. This could be in the form of articles, reports, audio or video products. You could even write an e-book on your chosen subject.

2. Building an article site for you to publish your own work and invite others to submit theirs for publication will give you a content rich website which Google will love. Place on some Adsense ads on each page and this will give you a nice income.

3. Publish newsletters or ezines on the subject of your chosen niche. Pack them with useful information and you will find that people will be happy to pay for a subscription. For example, real world magazines on subjects such as gardening, dieting or model railways have many people subscribe for each issue, providing the publisher with a regular monthly income.

4. Build a membership site on your chosen niche. Rather like a monthly newsletter or ezine, a membership site would provide you with a regular monthly income from your members. A paying online dating site for example would be very popular. Although there are many free sites available, some people prefer a paid membership as they can rest assured that their 'prospects' are serious about finding a mate.

Whichever type of product or website you decide to create, it must be rich with information, help people to solve problems and make them happier, healthier or wealthier. In essence, it must provide the very thing that your buyer wants or needs in such a way that they cannot get anywhere else.
